Product Styles

Hear Again Centers have many styles to choose from.

Carefully assessing your degree of hearing loss, preferred styles, and the costs, Hear Again professionals will recommend the most appropriate solutions and options. The style is a critical factor in your success. In many cases, cosmetic appeal is the # 1 goal. In others, we emphasize ease of use.

The latest devices are 100% digital and are computer-adjusted for optimal sound quality. They are designed for ultimate comfort and ease of care. The more traditional devices offer ease of use and affordability. Directional microphones, available in most styles, reduce background noise by literally focusing on sounds in front of you.

On-The-Ear

On-the-ear hearing instruments allow the ear canal to be "open" or non-occluded with an aid or an ear mold. On-the-ear hearing aids offer many advantages including:

  • Reduction of the occlusion effect. When an ear is blocked by a traditional earmold or hearing aid, people often complain that their voice sounds “hollow,” “boomy,” or like they are speaking in a “tunnel.” The open-ear style dramatically reduces these problems and improves acceptance of, and satisfaction with hearing aids.
  • Acoustic transparency. The use of the ultra thin tubing and small dome-style tip in the ear canal has minimal impact on the natural resonance characteristics of the ear canal. This allows for a more natural sound quality when the hearing device is in place.
  • Cosmetic appeal and enhanced comfort. The micro-device fits discreetly behind the ear while the ultra-thin tubing and dome conforms to the shape of the ear. This adds to the cosmetic appeal and increased comfort of these new devices. As you can see, these new open-ear hearing devices are almost invisible when placed on the ear.
