Hear Again H.E.L.P program. - Hearing Enhancement Listening Program - We offer innovative, practical training seminars, designed to provide our clients with a deeper understanding of hearing loss and the options for improved communication. We teach you how to get the most out of your new hearing aids and offer a custom-written plan to assist you in the future. These classes are free of charge to all our clients.

We encourage all of our clients to attend these classes to learn more about their hearing aids, how to best care for them, and what to expect from their hearing aids in various environments. Each class lasts approximately one hour. We provide snacks and beverages.

Class I

  • What causes hearing loss?
  • Understanding hearing loss
  • How to care for your hearing aids
  • Do's and Don'ts
  • Benefits and limitations to amplification

Class II

  • Accepting hearing loss
  • How to learn "effective" communication
  • How to hear better in a noisy environment like a restaurant or gathering
  • How to manipulate your environment to be "hearing friendly"
  • What your family and friends can do to help

Class III

  • The basics of speech reading
  • What is the difference between speech reading and lip reading
  • Speech reading exercises

Class IV

  • How to use the telephone effectively
  • Demonstrations on assistive listening devices
  • Demonstrations of alerting devices
  • Wrapping it up!

The H.E.L.P program takes place once a week for four weeks and lasts about one hour. During the sessions, you will be given valuable information, have time to talk with other clients, and be offered an opportunity to ask our staff questions.

We encourage family members and friends to join you. It is important for them to understand where, when and why you have difficulty communicating with them.
